The Spiritual Effects of Amavasya on Human

Since ages, Hindus have much faith that there is a great influence of the fortnightly cycle of the moon on the human life similar to its impact on the water bodies which turned into ebbs and tides. Diwali is one of the most relishing and biggest festivals which is also celebrated on Amavasya day only.

Before Discussing about rituals to perform on Amavasya lot of people got confused with the term Amavasya and Purnima some people relate both these terms because their direct relation is with moon so here we discuss it in simple words Amavasya shows negative relation whereas Purnima shows positive relation. Let’s elaborate both these terms:-

Amavasya: – It is also known as No Moon or New Moon Day. In this Day all evil powers become active and due to this no new work is preferable to start on this day

There are several spiritual effects of Amavasya on human and human behavior as an individual tends to act restlessly and become ill-tempered and irritable which depicts the signs of lunacy. The word lunacy even has been originated from the word moon or luna.

Amavasya Fast

Amavasya is a no moon day and is considered equally strong like Purnima in Hindu beliefs. People usually keep a fast on Amavasya.

This fast holds much importance as it is a belief that, if a person fasts on Amavasya then all their wishes come true.

People used to take a dip in the holy rivers after completing their fast and then worship the almighty Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu.

Amavasya and Evil Spirits

From the spiritual lenses, Amavasya is the day when the evil spirits are more powerful and it is the time when evil activities such as tantras are performed.

On this day, the evil spirits are free which supports the happening of black magic too.

As per the Vedic scriptures, moon is the representer of a person’s mind and the people who are stable only see the geographical impacts. On the other hand, the people who are unstable go insane or mad on the day of Amavasya.

Some people have mixed feelings and suffer from diverse behavioral aspects such as happiness, fear, excitement because of the instability and internal clashes of viewpoints.

Virtuous effects of Amavasya

From the positive outlook, Amavasya holds some positive effects on the human too as it is believed that it is the day when people must offer prayers to all their ancestors to get relieved from evil and negative energies.

On this day, it gets easier to get relieved from the effects of evil powers.

On the day of Amavasya, the planets release extra energy and is received by the human through radiations. The relation between human behavior and moon are accidental which varies from person to person and situation to situation. The most common effect of Amavasya on human is mental illness as well as short temper.
